A former police officer accused of having sex with a teenager will not face any jail time after a decision made by a Meade County judge Thursday (5/12).
Former Brandenburg Police Officer Todd Matti accepted a plea deal, so instead of sodomy charges, he pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. Meade County Circuit Judge Bruce Butler ordered him to two years of probation and he will not serve any jail time. He will not be placed on the sex offender registry.
A Meade County grand jury indicted Matti on two counts of sodomy in March 2014.
Former Kentucky State Police troopers Stratford Young and Jerry Clanton, and former Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Woosley were accused of the same with the same girl. The same grand jury indicted Young on charges of rape and sodomy but did not indict Clanton and Woosley.
The investigation into Clanton and Woosley is apparently not yet over as
Diane Arnold, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney stated in media interview, that
a review of their cases and no definitive answer but hopefully one will be forth coming.
