
Several accidents during the weekend sent emergency crews to the aide of motorists in Meade County.
The first accident happened around 10:20 am Saturday (9/17) on Kentucky 144 at Payneville Hill when a 2001 Ford driven by a juvenile lost control and overturned. The Meade County Sheriff Department, Meade County EMS and Payneville Fire Department responded to the scene where medical treatment was refused.
A second accident happened a short time later around 12:30 pm Saturday (9/17) involving a 2004 Chevrolet in the 2500 block of Hayesville Road. The driver was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Meade County EMS for their injuries. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Ekron Fire Department.
On Sunday (9/18), a two vehicle accident happened around 11:30 am at the intersection of Hayesville and Old State Roads. Three people were taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Meade County EMS for their injuries. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department and Ekron Fire Department worked to the clean up the scene about an hour.
A single vehicle roll over accident happened Sunday (9/18) night at the Meade/ Hardin County line at the intersection of Kentucky 1600 and 920 and Bewley Lane. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department cancelled the Flaherty Fire Department and Meade County EMS after no patient was found at the accident site. The accidents all remain under investigation by the Meade County Sheriff’s Department.
