Fire crews were called to a report of a house fire around 6:30 pm Thursday evening in northern Meade County.
Crews from Payneville, Rhodelia, Ekron and Battletown Fire Departments went to a residence at 240 Greer Road, where smoke was visible from the roof line of the house. Crews worked a couple of hours to extinguish the fire. The house suffered smoke damage and was not a total loss. The Meade County EMS and Meade County RECC assisted at the scene. the cause of the fire is under investigation.
