Verizon and Sprint announced Friday they will let customers trade in their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device for a different phone.
The move comes two days after a phone believed to be a replacement for a Note 7 caught fire on board a Southwest Airlines flight just before take-off.
Samsung launched its new Note 7 smartphone in August.
A few weeks later, customers started reporting their phones were catching fire while charging.
In September, Samsung launched a global recall program for 2.5 million devices.
