The University of Louisville has agreed to pay the embattled leader of its health sciences campus $1.15 million to leave the school.
The university said former Executive Vice President for Health Affairs Dr. David Dunn is leaving “in good standing” and is being given the money for relinquishing his tenured position.
Dunn had been on paid leave for more than a year amid a federal investigation into whether he and two others used federal grant money for non-university purposes.
Dunn led the health sciences campus for five years, during which time the school struck an ill-fated deal with KentuckyOne Health to run the University of Louisville Hospital and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
School trustees voted Tuesday to terminate that management agreement in July.
