A California woman is facing a felony charge after Elizabethtown police arrested her Sunday night when she was found living in a home that had been vacated.
Alyssa Jenese Lee, 27, of Los Angeles, is charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted. She is being held in lieu of a $2,500 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center.
According to an arrest citation, Lee was seen crawling through a window of the home by a neighbor. When the homeowner arrived to confront the woman, she said she “had the right to be there.”
When police arrived, they found “several items of property that belonged” to the woman in what appeared to “be an attempt to try to establish residency” in the home without permission, according to the arrest report.
Police reported finding a glass bong used for smoking marijuana in the home.
The home had a padlock on it, according to he citation.
