A Louisville man is facing multiple charges after police say they found firearms, drugs, ammunition, and other items during a traffic stop this week.
According to a citation from Louisville Metro Police, officers pulled over 36-year-old Tommie Roberson around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, on Frankfort Avenue after noticing his Jeep Cherokee had an improperly displayed license plate.
Police said Roberson made “furtive movements” before the stop and was seen reaching toward the center console.
A search of the vehicle later uncovered an AR-style rifle, a handgun, a box of 9mm ammunition, a suspected crack cocaine bag between the driver’s seat and console, a small marijuana blunt under the passenger seat, and 67 blue M-30 pills in the center console, according to the report.
Officers also reported finding eight cellphones in the glove box and console.
Roberson, a convicted felon, was arrested and charged with possession of firearms by a convicted felon, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence, and related enhancement charges. He is being held in Louisville Metro Department of Corrrections.
