
Meade County Fiscal Court members revisited several business items during a special called meeting Thursday (9/28)evening.
The meeting was held in the new Emergency Operation Center at the Courthouse with the court approving several claims and transfers. They voted approving Haley McCarvel as the Animal Control Team Lead and Matthew Cahill as the Assistant EMS Director. The court voted approving a resignation of an employee.
Magistrates revisited several bided items during the special called meeting. The court opened a newly received bid from the same single company which had submitted a bid for a replacing the Recirculation pumps for the Courthouse HVAC system. HMC resubmitted a bid of $40,070 for the project.
County leaders discussed the findings of the research on bids related to the installation of Astor Turf for the main softball field at Meade-Olin Park. After further comparison and research on each of the bids submitted the court voted to approve Vescio Sports Fields at project price of $263,531.87 which is about $8,100 lower then the second bid received which prompted the further research. County leaders will now negotiate a contract with Meade County Schools on how the project payments will be structured.
The court approved Anderson Heating & Cooling’s bid of $5,250 and Premier Mechanical’s bid of $7,927 for upgrades to the HVAC system at the Animal Shelter.
At the end of the meeting, Judge Executive Troy Kok announced the next the meeting of Meade County Fiscal Court will be held at during a special meeting on Thursday, October 12 at 7 PM in Rhodelia at the Meade Breck Center. The November meeting will also be a special called meeting to be held on Tuesday, November 14 at Flaherty Fire Department Station 1 in Flaherty. He also announced the ribbon cutting and open house of the new E-911 Center and Emergency Management Operations Center will be held on Friday, October 13 from 2 until 3:30 pm.
