A Kentucky woman was charged with manslaughter after she allegedly hit a pedestrian and left the scene without rendering aid or assistance.
Just after 2 a.m. Saturday morning, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a pedestrian struck by a car in the Willows Apartment complex in Pembroke.
Through investigation, officers determined the driver was 33-year-old Eiesha B. Whitlock, of Hopkinsville.
Officers said Whitlock engaged in “wanton behavior” and caused the death of 29-year-old Daquan T. Butler, of Pembroke.
During an interview with officers, Whitlock admitted to hitting Butler with her car. She told officers she left the scene and failed to call 911 because she was afraid.
Butler died as a result of his injuries.
Whitlock was charged with 2nd-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid or assistance.
She was lodged in the Christian County Jail under a $25,000 cash bond.
