The former Louisville middle school teacher who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges was sentenced to over 19 years in federal prison.
Jordan Fautz was a religion teacher and worked maintenance at St. Stephen Martyr School in Louisville. Fautz was accused of distributing child porn. A complaint stated that Fautz was using yearbook photos of students and photo-shopping their faces onto other nude child porn images and adult bodies. In some of the images, the girls are wearing red shirts with the school’s mascot, the SSM Cardinals.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Fautz used an online chatting application to distribute child sexual abuse material to an undercover law enforcement officer. IP addresses led FBI agents back to the school and Fautz’s home. FBI agents also found numerous pictures and videos of students who were clothed with their real names.
Fautz was listed as a 7th and 8th-grade religion teacher when the crimes took place.
In December 2024, Fautz pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of child pornography, two counts of distribution of the obscene visual representation of child sexual abuse, one count of production of the obscene visual representation of child sexual abuse, and one count of possession of child pornography.
On Friday, March 21, Fautz was sentenced to 19 years and 7 months in federal prison followed by 30 years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
Fautz was also ordered to pay $28,130 in restitution to victims.
The judge gave the maximum sentence under the sentencing guidelines of the plea deal.
