One of the three men who was convicted in the case of the disappearance and presumed murder of Crystal Rogers, a Bardstown mother who went missing over ten years ago, is attempting to take his appeal to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Earlier this month, Joseph Lawson was sentenced to 20 years for conspiracy to murder and five years for tampering with evidence, with both sentences to be served consecutively.
On September 29, a motion was filed on Lawson’s behalf, giving notice of his plans to take his appeal to the Kentucky Supreme Court to get “this Court’s final judgment and sentencing order.”
A judge previously denied Lawson’s motion for a new trial and judgment notwithstanding the verdict.
