Officials confirmed a school bus overturned Monday afternoon in a crash in Bullitt County causing several injuries.
The crash happened near Lebanon Junction at Wilson Creek Road and Old Boston Road and involved a school bus from Lebanon Junction Elementary School.
Bullitt Judge Executive Jerry Summers said Bullitt EMS responded to the crash scene with all five Bullitt County ambulances. Summers indicated minor injuries to several kids on the bus. Bullitt EMS responded with the support of EMS units from both Nelson and Jefferson counties.
Eight students and the bus driver were transported to area hospitals. Another five children were taken by their families to local medical facilities.
Emergency personnel cleared the remaining students and released them to their families.
The extent of other injuries isn’t known at this time. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
