The Henderson County Coroner’s Office confirms the body of a missing boater was recovered Saturday morning.
Officials say the body of the missing 29-year-old Hasani Carter was found around 8:15 a.m. Saturday on the third day of search operations. They found a boot on Friday that belonged to Carter.
Carter went missing Wednesday night after a boat carrying four people capsized near the Green River Lock and Dam boat ramp off the Spottsville Bridge area just before 10 p.m.
Investigators said Carter never resurfaced after the vessel overturned.
The discovery follows an extensive multi-agency effort. Search teams scoured the surrounding forest before shifting focus to the water, utilizing multiple boat crews, Henderson County EMA drones, and water scent dogs.
The boat’s operator, 19-year-old Samuel Keene, was arrested Wednesday night for operating a boat while intoxicated after failing a field sobriety test. Records show Keene has since been released on bond.
