A man was found dead in a Louisville home after gunfire damaged homes and vehicles on Meade Avenue, according to police.
Neighbors called 911 around 10 p.m. Friday to report gunfire in the 3000 block of Meade Avenue and identified a man who lives on the street as the suspected shooter.
LMPD’s SWAT team heard additional gunshots from inside the man’s home as officers approached.
After several hours of trying to contact him by megaphone, police obtained a search warrant and entered the home.
A drone found the man dead in the basement from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.
LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit will investigate. The investigation is ongoing.
