Two teenagers are accused of attempted murder after trying to rob a family.
Police said the teens pretended to sell an iPhone on Instagram with the plan to rob the people who responded. When the family met the teens police said they reached into their car and tried to take their money, then fired five shots into the family’s car using a stolen gun.
When Jeffersontown police caught up with one of the teens, that teen tried to pull a gun on the officer. The officer attempted to use a stun gun on the suspect, but only one probe hit the suspect. Jeffersontown officers were able to jump in, stop the suspect from shooting the officer and take the teen into custody without anyone getting hurt.
The second teen was arrested Friday morning. Jeffersontown police are hoping both suspects with be tried as adults.
Police said one officer was injured while chasing one of the suspects. The family was not injured.
