A Radcliff man was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday morning in Hardin Circuit Court and exchanged words with Judge Kelly Mark Easton as he attempted to discuss the appeal process.
While 41 year-old Travis Jeter was being escorted out of the courtroom by two bailiffs, a female supporter sitting in the front row stood up and said, “Keep fighting to the end.”
Easton then had a brief exchange with the unidentified woman and held her in contempt of court for disrupting his courtroom and sentenced her to 10 days in the Hardin County Detention Center. He later released her.
Jeter was formally sentenced for the robbery and assault of an Eastview woman earlier this year in a parking lot at the Towne Mall. The woman received multiple fractures and broken teeth during a robbery that netted Jeter $9 and some credit cards.
Easton upheld the sentence recommended by the jury.
