Kentucky State Police investigators have recovered the remains of four people from the scene of a fire at 401 M. Coomer Road in Adair County.
According to the Kentucky State Police, two of the bodies were recovered outside the residence and two were recovered from within the residence.
Those four have been identified as 60-year-old Mitchell Coomer, his wife, 52-year-old Lori Coomer, their granddaughter, 1-year-old Kinley Rodgers, and 32-year-old Steven A. Keltner. Jason Coomer, 34, was able to escape the home with minor injuries.
The fire started on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
The cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation.
An estimated 28 firefighters battled the fire for five hours and crews worked well into Tuesday night to prevent the fire from reigniting.
