Kentucky State Police Troopers and Washington County Deputies responded to a 911 call for a possible shooting at the Washington County Livestock Center in Springfield just before 3:00 p.m. Monday.
The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Preliminary autopsy results indicate 53-year-old Shane E. Thomason of Lancaster died as a result of a gunshot wound. The autopsy was performed Tuesday at the State Medical Examiner’s office in Louisville. Detective Kenny Brown is investigating and foul play is suspected.
