A early morning furnace fire gave fire crews a early start to a the day.
Members of the Ekron, Flaherty, and Meade County Fire Departments were called out just 4 am to a residence in the 3300 block of Stringtown Road. The fire began on the furnace and traveled into the duct work. Firemen worked about a short time to extinguish the fire. Crews were on the scene about 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
