
Two people are dead after a a fatal crash on US 60 in Hancock County Monday (3/27) while another person involved is in the hospital.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened around 11 am CDT near the intersection of Highway 60 and KY 3199. just east of Hawesville. A car driven by 35 year-old Erica Dowell of Harned was turning onto US 60 from Kentucky 3199 and came into the path of a semi driven by 60 year-old David Padgett of Flaherty.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they found a overturned semi with a Padgett trapped inside. Dowell and her 12 year-old passenger Jacob Wagner of Tell City were pronounced dead at the scene by the Hancock County Coroner. Police say the victims were a mother and her child.
Padgett was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with injuries. The semi was was carrying fertilizer.
