A pregnant inmate from the LaRue County Detention Center escaped custody Sunday night at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Authorities are searching for 27 year-old Brittany Zabala, who is 15 weeks pregnant, according to an Elizabethtown Police Department.
Around 6:55 p.m., Elizabethtown Police Department received a call from the LaRue County Sheriff’s Office seeking assistance after Zabala escaped while being treated at Hardin Memorial Hospital. Zabala was last seen running toward Woodland Drive behind the hospital in an orange jumpsuit with a pink or purple hair band. She is described as 5-foot, 3-inches tall and about 120 pounds with red hair.
Zabala was booked March 14 into the LaRue County Detention Center on charges that include possession of methamphetamine; second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot; first-degree promoting contraband and receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more.
