A 17-year-old from Louisville was attacked by a shark while swimming off the coast of a Destin, Florida beach.
Caitlyn Taylor was bitten in the middle of the day while in waist-deep water near a sandbar.

The shark’s rough skin scraped her left leg and the shark bit on her right leg.
On Tuesday morning the teen was recovering with over 100 stitches in her right leg.
Taylor was in the sunshine state for a softball tournament that she was taking part in and medics say that because of the muscles in her legs she’s gotten from playing the sport may have protected vital arteries from being punctured, which would have caused severe bleeding or amputation.
She is expected to make a full recovery.
