
One person has died from injuries sustained in a three vehicle accident Friday night on Interstate 65 in Warren County.
According to Kentucky State Police, 56-year-old Timothy Babbs of Auburn, died Saturday night from his injuries at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Kentucky State Police say Timothy Babbs was driving a Buick passenger car, when the car stalled out in the roadway while traveling south.
A Lincoln passenger car, driven by 54-year-old Timothy Parker of Flat Rock, Alabama, also traveling south, was unable to avoid striking the rear of the stalled vehicle. Causing Babbs’ vehicle to catch fire.
Parker’s vehicle was then struck by a Toyota SUV, driven by 42-year-old Jill Whitman, of Sylvania, Ohio.
After this collision, the SUV then overturned and came to final rest on its roof.
Babbs was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of life threatening injuries. His passenger, 54-year-old Jacqueline Buckner of Auburn, was transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for non-life threatening injuries.
Parker sustained minor injuries and was not transported to a medical facility from the scene.
Whitman and passenger, 54-year-old Richard Whitman of Sylvania, Ohio, sustained minor injuries and were not transported to the medical facility.
Two juvenile passengers in Whitman’s vehicle were transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for non-life threatening injuries. A third juvenile passenger, who was not restrained and ejected from the SUV, was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center for life threatening injuries.
