The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that occurred in the county Sunday(02/13).
A male subject of unknown race, who spoke with a Hispanic accent represented himself as an employee of Meade County RECC. He told the victim he needed to check the breaker box and entered the home.
He was driving a white utility van, possibly a Chevrolet Astro with an amber/strobe light on the roof. It is unknown if the van had a ladder rack. A black Ford Focus could possibly be a lookout vehicle.
The subject stole personal property from the residence.
The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Meade County RECC and they advised they had no one in the area at that date and time.
If you see a vehicle that fits this description, please contact the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 270-756-2361. If you have information about this particular case, please contact Deputy Joey Board. This is an active investigation.
If anyone comes to your house identifying themselves as a person working for, or with the electric company or any other entity, always check for identification before allowing them to enter your home. If something doesn’t seem right, call law enforcement immediately.
