According to Meade County Sheriff Phillip Wimpee, Meade County experienced its first homicide since January 2022 on Monday, June 5, 2023.
Detectives with the Meade County Sheriff’s Office have received assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, both local and federal, in an attempt to locate the individual responsible for this homicide. All evidence collected tells law enforcement that this is an isolated incident.
Currently, Detectives are working on all possible leads, following up on all collected evidence, and awaiting results from forensic evidence to aid in completing a profile of the assailant. The wait for this valuable data is not hindering the additional investigations by the Detectives.
Detectives are asking for the public’s help in obtaining information about this investigation. Anyone with doorbell cameras in the area of Old Mill Road between Hwy 313 and Doe Valley Community Entrance is asked to provide that video footage to the Meade County Sheriff’s Office.
