Months after Aerosmith’s lead singer injured his larynx, the band announced on Friday they were retiring from touring.
The band known for “Dream On,” “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion” began its “Peace Out” farewell tour last September, but quickly postponed dates after singer Steven Tyler suffered the vocal cord injury during a show.
They were originally going to restart the tour on September 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and make a stop in Louisville on September 26. Their last stop would have been in Buffalo, New York on February 26.
“It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours,” the band said in a social media post. “In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.”
“Dream on. You’ve made our dreams come true.”
According to Ticketmaster, refunds will be issued to the original method of payment used to purchase the tickets as soon as they are received from the band. After that, the money should appear in your account within 14-21 days.
If fans purchased tickets through a third-party reseller like StubHub or SeatGeek, refunds will be available through that point of purchase.
