On Monday at 8:40 a.m., the Glasgow Police Department responded to a residence on Sam Terry Avenue regarding a disturbance.
According to a uniform citation, a female caller told dispatch that a male had allegedly threatened to blow up a home. As police were headed towards the home, the caller also said she could smell gasoline.
The female caller locked herself and her children inside a bedroom, while the suspected male was inside the home.
When police arrived, they made contact with the male, identified as 35-year-old Luis Carcamo-Pacheco.
According to the press release, he was later detained inside the home. Officers also detected a strong smell of gasoline and requested The Glasgow Fire Department.
The fire department detected fumes inside the bedroom and found they were unsafe to inhale. When searching for the source of the smell, police found a bottle of Ammonia left open and near the reach of children.
Police spoke to 38-year-old Felicia Martinez of Glasgow, the female inside the bedroom. After an investigation, Martinez said that Carcamo-Pacheco used gasoline in an attempt to kill scabies.
She further explained that he heard from a friend that gasoline would kill scabies. The Housing Authority and Martinez confirmed that there was scabies inside the home.
Both were taken to the Barren County Detention Center and charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
