The Trump Administration wants to make the U.S. a leader in artificial intelligence, and Kentucky is part of the plan.
The Department of Energy named the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in western Kentucky, one of four sites, for it’s AI infrastructure plan.
The other sites chosen were the Idaho National Laboratory, Oak Ridge Reservation and the Savannah River Site.
The goal is to create AI data centers and energy generation projects.
Built in 1952, the Paducah plant originally produced enriched uranium for nuclear weapons.
Crews started work on an environmental clean up at the site in the 80s’.
