A former assistant principal in McCreary County has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison in a child sex crime case.
According to federal court records, Aaron D. Anderson was sentenced to 120 months in prison after pleading guilty to online coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity, a violation of federal law.
The judgment, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, shows the offense conduct ended on February 14, 2024. Anderson pleaded guilty to one count of the indictment.
In addition to the prison sentence, Anderson will be required to serve 10 years of supervised release following his incarceration. Court documents state he must comply with sex offender registration requirements, participate in sex offender and mental health treatment, and is prohibited from having contact with minors or working in any education-related field involving children.
Anderson previously served as an assistant principal at McCreary Central High School. He resigned in early 2024 amid a police and state investigation. He had earlier been indicted on multiple state charges related to sexual misconduct.
