Louisville police said Flock security cameras helped them find the suspect in a shooting that left four people injured at a lounge in the city’s Klondike neighborhood earlier this month.
Ezekiel C. Dean, 32, of Louisville, was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of assault and one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in the January 4 shooting at Lenny’s Lounge in the city’s Klondike neighborhood.
Dean pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Tuesday morning and a judge set his bond at $250,000 full cash.
Louisville Metro Police said officers responded what was described as a chaotic scene in the 3700 block of Klondike Lane at 5:32 a.m. on January 4. They found two young adults had been shot.
According to police, two more victims were self-transported to local hospitals but rerouted to UofL Health Hospital. The victims included three young adults, ages 18 to 21 and a 17-year-old.
Police said at the time that one of the victims was in critical condition. No update has been given on their condition.
Investigators said Flock cameras linked a rental car at the shooting scene to Dean. Despite recent criticism about how the technology is being used, Louisville Metro Police Department said the cameras are a tool to help solve crime.
Dean is due back in court January 28.
