County Leaders Work Through Business

Members of Meade County Fiscal Court recognized a couple of employees Tuesday (3/10) evening during their regular meeting.

Information Technology Director Joshua Mattingly presented Mark Radcliffe with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts to assist county offices with updating computers to Windows 11 along with the Microsoft office suite which a large number of machines. Radcliffe also assisted the Meade County Sheriff’s Office with data recovery of DVR footage related to a murder case. Mattingly said that both of Radcliffe’s efforts saved the county thousands of tax payer dollars. Judge Executive Troy Kok presented Radcliffe and Mattingly each with a coin of excellence for their work and preventative measures to ensure the county operations function.

County Clerk Susan Masterson presented Fiscal Court with the 2025 year end excess fees in the amount of $103,109.08. Magistrates approved a bid from Ak & Associates for upgrades to the E911 Center phone system in the amount of $182,083.93. E911 Director Jeremy Miller said that he will be applying for a grant that could fund up $150,000 of the project amount. He expects to know the grant discission in June.

The court approved bids for services of inmate commissary, food service and phone contract for the Detention Center. The also approved a resolution to support House Bill 557 on behalf of the Detention Center.

Magistrates rejected a single bid for a new EMS vehicle due to the difference in vehicle models in the bid specs and what was received. The court voted to seek new bids for the vehicle. They did approve a bid from Prodigy Construction in the amount of $2,077,000 for the new road department building.

Magistrates approved the first reading of an ordinance related to the Otter Creek Park Management Program. They also approved a rezoning request for property located at 395 Gumwell Road.

Judge Executive Kok announced the courthouse will be open a half day on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. A Townhall Meeting will be held in the Third District on March 26 beginning at 6 PM located at the Flaherty Fire Department Station 1. The next meeting of the Meade County Fiscal Court will be held of Tuesday, April 13 at 7 PM.
