The suspect in April’s deadly shooting at a Berea bank is having his federal trial delayed indefinitely.
Eighteen-year-old Brailen Weaver is accused of entering the U.S. Bank branch and killing two employees.
His indictment called it premeditated.
Weaver’s federal trial was supposed to start at the end of July, but both the prosecution and his defense asked for the delay.
A judge granted their motion Thursday.
If convicted, Weaver could face the death penalty, but the attorney general’s office has not yet decided if they will seek it.
Weaver is still being held in the Woodford County Jail.
