A man was arrested Wednesday after police say he threatened a woman inside of an apartment.
Louisville Metro Police officers were called to an apartment complex on South First Street on a report of a woman being held hostage by a man, 37 year-old Antonio Christian, who was armed with a handgun.
Officers found the woman had made it to a neighbor’s apartment before they arrived; they learned Christian had pointed the handgun at her temple and threatened to kill her the night before, according to the arrest citation.
She believed her life was in imminent danger and described him as “not acting right and talking out of his head,” according to the citation. She added Christian would talk to himself and then switch it up to “being nice” to her.
The victim said he had also taken her phone because of his paranoia and followed her throughout the apartment.
Officers found Christian in the stairwell with a burnt glass pipe, white residue and a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine, according to the citation.
Police said they didn’t find the handgun at the scene.
Christian is charged with wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.
