Two juveniles have been taken into custody after an 11-year-old boy was shot Saturday night in Louisville’s Watterson Park neighborhood.
According to Louisville Metro Police, the LMPD Homicide Unit arrested a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old in connection with the shooting in the 3500 block of Bluegrass Park Drive.
Police said the 14-year-old was charged with first-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a minor.
The 17-year-old was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-offense possession of a handgun by a minor and tampering with physical evidence.
Officers were called to the area around 7:11 p.m. Saturday and found an 11-year-old boy who had been shot.
The boy was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating. Police said all parties have been accounted for.
