Ford is creating six new “Future Builders Labs” at high schools across Kentucky.
The labs in Jefferson and Hardin counties, and Elizabethtown, are set to include 3D printing, laser cutting, coding, robots and computing.
They are designed to give up to 7,000 students access to hands-on experience with technologies that are shaping Kentucky’s economy.
Officials said the goal is to address a growing gap in skilled trades and advanced manufacturing talent by expanding awareness, training and career pathways for the next generation.
The schools will also form a regional collaborative network that allows teachers to share curriculum, best practices and projects.
Ford did not disclose which schools would house the labs.
