
The Jefferson County Coroner identified a man who died early Wednesday morning in a workplace accident at a southwest Louisville steel supply facility.
The accident happened around 2:24 a.m. at Siskin Steel and Supplies, located on Port Road.
Pleasure Ridge Park Fire and EMS responded to the facility and found 44 year-old Robert McCandless with multiple blunt force injuries to his lower body.
McCandless was taken to UofL Hospital, where he died around 3:25 a.m., according to the coroner’s report.
The Louisville Metro Police Homicide Unit was notified and took over the investigation.
Additional information, including the circumstances surrounding the accident, was not immediately available.
The company is a metal services distributor that supplies industrial metal products to equipment manufacturers.
