An accident in Hardin County involving a tractor-trailer truck and a passenger car claimed the life of two people Sunday evening.
The accident happened near the intersection of Lincoln Parkway and Harvest Drive. The tractor-trailer was stopped to turn right onto Harvest Drive when the passenger car came up in the same lane too fast and was unable to avoid hitting the back of the trailer.
According to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department, a male passenger in the back seat of the car was dead at the scene. A woman in the front seat was transported by Hardin County EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital, but died soon after from her injuries. The driver of the car was injured but is expected to recover.
Police did not immediately release names of any that was involved in the accident.
