Kentucky State Police Post 4 is asking citizens to be aware of Telephone Scams where the caller is claiming to represent the Kentucky State Police.
The Kentucky State Police has not entered into any agreement with any fundraising organizations and furthermore has never solicited money over the phone.
They have received reports in the last few days that citizens are receiving these calls and want to make the public aware this is a scam.
Anyone who receives a suspicious call from someone wanting credit card or bank account information for a charitable donation should never give this info over the phone. They advise asking whomever you are speaking with to send you literature by mail to your residence for your review.
