A four alarm fire sent fire crews to the Custer area Saturday morning. When firemen from Custer, Harned, Hardinsburg and McDaniels Fire Departments arrived, they found a mobile home in the 4200 block of East Highway 86, fully engulfed in flames and heavy black smoke coming from the residence.
Crews worked about three hours to gain control of the flames and extinguish the hot spots. The home was total loss. Everyone inside at the time was able to make it out of the home. One person was taken to Breckridge Memorial Hospital.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the family. Meade County RECC and Breck Central EMS assisted at the scene. The fire is under investigation by the Kentucky State Fire Marshall’s office.
