On Tuesday (6/14) bridge work for the Exit 91 Bridge over I-65 will result in several impacts to traffic. Barrier wall will be set across eastbound and westbound Western Kentucky Parkway bridges and traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions.
Westbound traffic on the Lincoln Parkway to the Western Kentucky Parkway will be reduced to one lane between Sportsman’s Lake Road and US 31W so traffic will be in a one lane pattern ahead of the US 31W intersection. A single westbound lane will remain in place until the end of the bridge over I-65. The left turn lane from Lincoln Parkway to southbound US 31W will remain open and will be marked using barrels. The westbound ramp to Northbound I-65 will be marked using barrels as well.
Northbound I-65 traffic getting off to the Western Kentucky Parkway westbound must stop before merging into one lane traffic. Message boards, multiple signs and flashing lights will be installed to notify traffic of this movement.
Eastbound traffic on the Western Kentucky Parkway will be reduced to one lane between the KY 1136 bridge and I-65.
Southbound I-65 traffic exiting to Western Kentucky Parkway eastbound must stop before merging into one lane traffic. Message boards, multiple signs and flashing lights will be installed to notify traffic of this movement.
These traffic impacts will be in place through June 30th. Lane closures will begin with the outside lane and will shift to the inside lane through the work schedule but the overall traffic patterns will not change, once put in place. Motorists exiting and entering Western Kentucky Parkway should be very cautious and patient through the work zone and pay close attention to signage.
