Road construction will resume in Irvington beginning Monday (4/17) as crews will start working on the final phase of the US 60 widening project.
Part of the project will cause a section of Highway 79 be closed between Maple & Woodlawn Streets for about three weeks, weather permitting, as crews will realign the roadway to join it to a section of KY 2202. A detour will be in place during the construction.
Residents will still have access to their property during the construction.
Once completed, Highway 79 will intersect with US 60 and KY 2202. A center turning lane will be added to US 60 from the intersection to the western city limits.
