The Vine Grove Police Department was alerted Thursday to several counterfeit bills found at North Middle School.
Police say none of the money was used at the school.
Authorities are alerting the public to pay close attention to their cash.
There were also reports of counterfeit $100 bills found in Meade County about the same time.
It is recommended that you look closely at your bills to determine if you have any.
Police Chief Kenny Mattingly said a school official became aware of the counterfeit bills and contacted police.
If anyone comes in contact with any counterfeit money, they should contact their local police department.
