Motorists traveling KY 313 through the widening project in the Radcliff and Vine Grove areas should be aware of a traffic pattern change resulting in the discontinuation of left-turn lanes as median construction takes place.
Drainage installation begins soon throughout the project and will continue over the next couple of months. Afterwards, traffic will be switched to the newly constructed side of the roadway to allow project completion.
Without left-turn lanes, motorists will have to exercise patience in utilizing left-turn opportunities. Motorists should slow down and pay close attention to work zone signage and their proximity to other vehicles.
As the project progresses, additional changes in traffic will be required. Those who drive through the work zone on a frequent basis should not become complacent regarding traffic configurations.
The KY 313 widening project is part of a plan to increase safety and efficiency of traffic flow from US 31W toward Meade County. The project began late summer of 2018 and is scheduled for completion in October of this year.
