A Meade County man was arrested after allegedly fatally shooting a woman Thursday morning.
Just before 7 a.m., the Meade County E-911 Center received a call about a person who had been shot in the 7100 block of Battletown Road. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the victim, 39 year-old Crystal Fetch, dead in the residence. Upon their preliminary investigation, police say 37 year-old Derick Ford, of Battletown, got into a “verbal altercation” with Fetch. During the argument, he allegedly shot Fetch.
Ford is charged with murder, and is currently being held in the Meade County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 7.
