The Meade County Fiscal Court held a work session meeting Monday (03/10) evening with all members present.
This was a joint meeting with the Meade County Ethics Board for the purpose of training and discussing the duties of the Ethics Board.
The Ethics Board consist of five members that are appointed by the Meade County Fiscal Court and they serve a four year term. All members of the Ethics Board was present at the meeting.
Meade County Attorney Sidney Durham explained their duties included monitoring the actions for all elected county officials, hear any complaints someone might bring against any official, and attend any meetings that were deemed necessary. They are required to have at least one meeting per year to make sure all elected officials turn in their financial disclosures. She also went over the Ethics Board forms in detail.
Attorney Durham advised since most of board were new members, they would need to schedule a meeting to elect a chairman and secretary, as well as, accept the elected officials financial disclosures for the year.
