Meade County was hit by an EF-1 tornado during Sunday’s storms, according to the latest survey from the National Weather Service.
The EF-1 tornado with wind speeds of 90 mph touched down in the town of Flaherty and continued into Hardin County, ending in Radcliff, according to the survey.
Mike Kochasik with the National Weather Service said a fifth tornado was confirmed in Breckinridge County. The track was just north of Harned and there were 90 mph winds.
That brings the total tornado count from Sunday night’s storms to five in our area. That number could grow as the National Weather Service continues to conduct surveys.
More severe weather is in the forecast beginning Wednesday evening through the end of the week, and officials are urging people to take precautions and stay weather alert.
