Motorists that travel the Matthew L. Welsh Bridge over the Ohio River from Brandenburg, Kentucky to Harrison County, Indiana can expect delays next week due to bridge inspection.
The inspection is scheduled to run from Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9.
Harrison County Emergency Management Director, Michael Kruz, said they are hoping to complete the inspection in the first two days.
The current plan is to close the southbound lane from Indiana to Kentucky on Monday, May 5, then on Tuesday, May 6, to close the northbound lane from Kentucky to Indiana. Each day the lanes will be closed from around 9 a.m. until around 5 p.m. There will be traffic control restricting the lanes during the inspection.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time and caution.
