
A man standing next to his mailbox was injured when one of two cars involved in a crash on Sunday spun into him.
The crash happened about 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of Jim Clark Road in Nelson County.
Sgt. Jason Allison with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Samantha Thompson was northbound in a 2011 Chevrolet passenger vehicle when she collided with a southbound 2001 Mercury driven by 24-year-old Brittney Evens. Evens’ vehicle went into a spin, ran off the west side of the road and hit 70 year-old Ralph Clark, who was standing next to his mailbox.
Clark was taken by ambulance to Flaget Memorial Hospital and later transferred to University of Louisville Hospital. His condition was listed as stable on Sunday.
Evens was taken by private vehicle to Flaget Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
