A Kentucky business owner is facing felony theft charges in southern Indiana after multiple homeowners told police his construction company never completed work they were paid to do.
On Thursday, 29 year-old Shawn Ray Hull, of Buffalo, Kentucky, was arrested and charged with theft in Floyd County after being arrested on the same charge in Washington County earlier this month.
Police said Hull is the co-owner of Power Home Exteriors.
Indiana State Police began their initial investigation last September after a homeowner in Floyd County, Indiana told detectives they paid Hull more than $15,000 for a window replacement in April 2023, but the work was never started.
In November 2023, a second victim in Washington County told Indiana State Police they paid Hull’s construction company $7,000 of a $14,000 estimate for window replacement and the work had not been started.
Both homeowners stated their calls went unanswered when they attempted to contact the company.
While investigating the case, Indiana State Police Detective Tim Denby learned Hull listed the business online with a Louisville address, but there was no actual business at that given location. Denby also found Power Home Exteriors never ordered or purchased replacement windows and that no work was started or completed in either case.
