A Louisville man, acquitted of killing his step-brother in a 2011 murder, pleaded guilty to a federal firearms charge on Thursday in a different case.
A judge accepted a plea agreement and will sentence Josh Young on June 27 in federal court for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
The plea comes a little over a year after Young was arrested in connection with a shooting in Louisville and for allegedly ramming a police vehicle while attempting to flee from officers. He was taken into custody after a 20-minute standoff with police on multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Two months after his state indictment, federal prosecutors filed the weapons charge.
